is a non-profit organization (Tax ID: 31-1529941), established
in 1991. VPA is dedicated to assist and promote literacy,
cultural, educational, social, economic, health of rural farming
community.
VPA members are those who can trace their ancestry to people
engaged in the
farming occupation. VPA has also involved in many charitable
work,
In order to encourage active and frequent
involvement of the vokkaliga people in VPA, VPA has formed
following four regional Chapters:

are involved in various community and cultural events locally.

VPA Convention - a grand success!!! |

The 10th Vokaligara Parishat
of America Convention which was be held in Palo Alto,
California (Silicon Valley) during June 29th through
Sunday, July 1st, 2007 was a huge success. More than
400 people from all across USA and India attended
this 3-day event. The event was filled with cultural,
entertainment, fashion show , comedy programs. Captain
Neil Prakash with his keynote speech shared his experiences
in battlefied in Iraq, Prof. Krsihne Gowda enteratined
with his comediy act, Kumar Malavalli shared his entreprenurial
advises during the Business Forum. Fashion show, Continuing
Medical Education (CME) for physicians was educational
and earned CME credits as well. Women, Youth, &
Community Service sessions were of big success too!
The convention theme was "From
the Soil to Silicon" focused not only on the
contributions of our fellow VPA members in the United
States but also, the recent success stories that have
emerged out of Bangalore. Indeed, no one can dispute
the fact that our community has played a key role
in helping Bangalore become a household name around
the world. As such, our Convention’s was to
to explore these successes as well as use the opportunity
to uncover new ones.
